Landscape Alaska

About 20 years ago, Black Vine Weevils , a serious pest especially for Rhododendrons, came into our environment, there had been a few before, but the scale changed dramatically. These beetles feed at night so they're rarely seen, but the tattered leaf edges are evidence of their presence. That is only the tip since adults mean larvae, which are feeding on the roots causing overall decline and in some cases total destruction.
They also feed on Yews, true Firs, climbing Hydrangeas, Primulas, and many other species. We saw a group of 25 ft Fir trees go in just a few years, they were all removed last year leaving a huge hole in the condominiums landscape.
The species is so tough and pesticide resistant that it's really hard to control them chemically, and a pesticide powerfull enough would be dangerous to apply, not to say bad in the environment.
There is a naturally occurring microscopic nematode ( Steinernema feltiae) that targets these larvae, and it causes no unwanted side effects.
Landscape Alaska has the last shipment of these beneficial nematodes used to control root weevils on Rhododendrons, we will have them available on Sunday 11-3:00, please contact me (landscapealaska@gmail.com) to have the correct quantity available for your plants we measure enough to treat a plant 2 ft across for 8.00, if your plants are larger, remember it's a function of area of the root system.
