Dwarf Western Red Cedar, Thuja plicata ‘Northern Spire’
A vigorous and tightly branched evergreen conifer, the Thuja plicata is also known as the Northern Spire Western Red Cedar. Deep, vibrant green in the spring and summer, this low maintenance columner shrub turns russet-red in the winter giving a nice range of color for the year. Thriving in full sun and enjoying constantly moist soil, the Northern Spire requires little trimming and makes excellent hedges and screens for privacy. Another plus is it’s beautiful fragrance, especially noticable when being trimmed.
