Lowbush Blueberry, Vaccinium corymbosum ‘Northland’

$19.95

Most everyone in Southeast Alaska knows their blueberries. This variety is from the Northeast of the Lower 48 and is the same variety used for growing most of the commercial blueberries in the U.S. Blueberries interbreed very freely, so it’s not unlikely to hybridize with some of the berries in your landscape if you have some nearby. One of the perks for bringing in an outside variety of blueberry is that, although they’ll look very similar to us, wild animals will avoid eating unknown berries for some time — potentially years — before learning to trust the new food source.
