An icon in Southeast Alaska cooking, this tart plant is wonderful in pies, cobblers, syrups, muffins, and any other creative culinary dish you can dream up. This ruby stalk grows easily in the rainforest, and is practically guaranteed to return annually, so long as you do not cut the stalk, as it will rot at the slice point. Always make sure you tear the stalk near the root when harvesting.
