4x4x5” – $10
The Snowmound Spiraea is one that Margaret Tharp, MLA, owner of Landscape Alaska and resident landscape architect, uses in landscape designs all over Juneau, Alaska. The entire shrub grows like a firework in slow motion. With long, sturdy, arcing branches that grow up from the center of the mound and weep outward, it takes on the signature shape of an explosion over time. Each branch is covered in tight, compound clusters of bright white flowers lending it its name as it evokes a pile of fluffy snowfall. Reaching 3 to 5′ wide and tall, this shrub is tough enough to thrive in Juneau and would love your yard as well.
