Columnar Apple Tree

Apples grown in Southeast Alaska are known to develop unique flavors and colors, especially if grown in the native soils here. Every year we order a selection of different varieties, all in the dwarf columnar style due to our heavy winters. With this breeding, the apples grow directly off the trunk and short, sky-pointing branches. This shape means that when winter’s ice and snow begin to stack upon the tree, its branches are less likely to snap, as well as the trunk, elevating its winter survivability and viability for our climate. Put this in your order and we’ll let you know which varieties we have in stock!
